Collection Messerschmitt Bf109E

This
significant original painting is the 6th original in the RLM
Collection and depicts the most popular of all German fighters
the Messerschmitt Bf109E. The painting depicts an incident
that took place during the Battle of Britain on 30th August
1940 when Fw. Ernst Arnold of 3/JG27 was shot down by RAF
ace Brian Carbury near Canterbury.
The painting is
signed on the back by Squadron Leader Basil Gerald Stapleton
DFC who flew during the Battle of Britain with Brian Carbury
on 603 Squadron.
The
original canvas size is 30" x 20" (76cm x 51cm)
and the depth of colour and the fine detail is far greater
than any print or computer monitor can represent.
